The safety assessment report is an essential part of the product information file for cosmetic products. This toxicological assessment, which must be carried out by a safety assessor, is based on a set of information on the final cosmetic product and on each ingredient listed in Annex I Part A of the Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009/EC. In this session the different aspects will be discussed. What data is required for the safety assessor to assess a cosmetic product as safe or if certain data are missing, this leads to an "unsafe" assessment. The official control of the product information file shows a very differentiated picture. What is the role of the responsible person and what is the role of the safety officer?
